Legal Considerations
When discussing the Geisler Defence G19X 80% pistol, we need to consider the legal aspects surrounding its ownership and assembly. As an 80% frame, the G19X is not considered a complete firearm and is generally compliant with the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 921 (a) (3)).
However, there are specific state regulations that we must be aware of:
In California, for instance, the state requires that any completed 80% firearm, including the G19X, be serialized and registered with the California Department of Justice. Failure to comply with this requirement can result in legal penalties.
In Massachusetts, we must be cautious, as their gun laws are some of the most stringent in the nation. While it might be legal to possess an 80% frame, Massachusetts may have additional requirements for registration and serialization once the firearm has been completed.
Our recommendation for those interested in building a Geisler Defence G19X 80% pistol is to familiarize themselves with their respective state and local laws regarding the possession, assembly, and registration of such firearms.
