Overview

The 3DSS (3D Suppressed Sten), dubbed “Printorez,” is a fully 3D-printable 9mm PCC styled after the iconic Russian VSS Vintorez. It merges Mac-11 internals with AR-15 fire control groups, offering a unique, DIY-friendly take on a legendary suppressed rifle.

Developed by Peacekeeper, this project was built with flexibility in mind—supporting multiple stock and suppressor setups and magazine types. With over a year in development and 1,000+ test rounds, it’s built for form and function.

Features of the 3DSS

The 3DSS offers multiple configuration paths so builders can tailor the weapon to their specific goals—whether it’s style, function, or compatibility.

You can choose between two magazine types: traditional Glock mags for simplicity or Sten-style rock-and-lock mags for that authentic VSS feel. This is mirrored by variant options, letting you print a true-to-form VSS or a modular AS VAL-inspired build with rear picatinny rail support.

Suppressor compatibility includes a 40mm VSS-style shroud or a 50mm short can for a more compact suppressed build. The suppressor is cleverly designed with a carbon fiber tube and epoxy-bonded shroud for strength and alignment.

Modularity is key: you get options for full stocks, short stocks, and folding brace compatibility. There’s also support for DB alloy reinforcements and a TPU short stroke buffer system.

Print orientation is well-optimized for standard Ender 3-style printers, and support guidance is detailed to avoid failed prints—especially inside the bolt ride channel of the upper.

Hardware and Tools Required

Hardware

  • Mac-11 Bolt, Charging Handle, External Barrel Trunnion, and Barrel
  • AR-15 FCG and Safety Group
  • 6x M5 Square Nuts
  • 3x M5x90mm Socket Head Bolts
  • 3x M5x40mm Bolts
  • 1x M3x15mm Socket Head Screw
  • 2x M4x30mm Socket Head Screws
  • 1x M3 Hex Nut
  • 1x M4x22mm Dowel Pin
  • 1x .375” Compression Spring
  • 1x Dowel Pin 3×32 (for Glock feed ramp)
  • 3x 5mm x 35mm Pins
  • 1x SCS Plate
  • Optional: DB FCG Reinforcement Plate

Additional Parts

  • 15rd or 33rd Glock mag spring
  • Suppressor tube (40mm or 50mm OD carbon fiber)
  • 2-part epoxy resin
  • 1/2×28 to 3/4×16 thread adapter
  • Optional TPU for buffer and butt pad (95A)

3D Printed Parts for the 3DSS

  • Lower receiver (Sten or Glock variant)
  • Upper receiver
  • Stock (short, long, or two-piece)
  • Forend (compatible with suppressor size)
  • Suppressor shroud
  • Short stroke buffer (TPU)
  • Optional: Buttpad (TPU)

All parts should be printed at 100% infill unless noted. TPU parts should be printed at 95A hardness, ~40% infill, and with solid walls. The stock prints well at around 50% infill.

Avoid supports inside the upper’s bolt ride cavity—this is crucial for function.

Tools Required

  • Gunsmith punch set or hammer and screwdriver combo
  • Long metric Allen wrenches
  • Cutters (for Glock mag spring installation)
  • Imperial drill bits (for hole cleanup and fitting)

Conclusion

The 3DSS is a stylish, adaptable, and heavily tested PCC platform that merges form with function. Whether you’re chasing the sleek VSS aesthetic or just want a unique suppressor-ready 9mm, this build delivers.

It’s no small feat for a solo dev project—and with proper attention to orientation, hardware, and build instructions, the 3DSS offers one of the most complete DIY suppressed PCC packages around. Choose wisely, print clean, and as Peacekeeper says—Godspeed, o7.
