Best Polymer 80 Kits – Guide and Review

There are multiple Polymer 80 build kits available, and they come separately or in sets. There are four main types of a Polymer 80 kit: the frame, the rail, the slide, and the trigger kit.

Let’s start with the frame and rail kits in the next section.

Polymer 80 frame and rail parts kit

Subcompact-size frame and rail kit – PF940SC

The Polymer 80 subcompact pistol kit, also known as the PF940SC, is compatible with Glock 26 in 9x19mm and consists of frame and rail parts. It is also known as a double stack.

This subcompact Polymer 80 frame kit contains these parts:

  • The pistol body frame
  • The rear rail module
  • A locking block rail
  • 3mm and 2mm pins
  • Coil slide lock spring

The frame in this subcompact Polymer 80 Glock kit provides enhanced ergonomics and improved grip. It has a 1911 grip handle, accelerator cuts, and an extended beaver tail.

The PF940sc frame is a double stack, meaning you can use a double bullet capacity magazine.

The frame is constructed from a reinforced polymer for maximum strength and durability. The frame grip is textured, but the user can style it according to preference.

Subcompact-size frame and rail kit – PF9SS

The PF9SS is a subcompact pistol kit characterized by a single stack. It is compatible with Glock 43 Gen 4 in 9×19. The frame and rail can be purchased as a P80 complete kit or separately if you already own a frame.

This kit contains the following parts:

  • The blank or frame of the pistol
  • The Rear Rail Module
  • The Locking Block Rail System
  • Two pins – 2mm and 3mm
  • A Slide Stop Spring and a Slide Stop Lever

Because it’s a single stack, the frame provides a narrower and more powerful ergonomic grip for the user. This adds to a better drawback kick absorption when firing.

As for the build quality, the PF9SS frame is made from strengthened polymer, providing excellent durability and resistance to wear and tear.

The accessory rail is made with a Picatinny/STANAG design which can be used to mount a light accessory, for example.

Note that this frame is compatible with Gen 4 Glock slide assemblies.

Compact-size frame and rail kit – PF940C

PF940C represents the compact pistol kit size and is compatible with the Glock 19 and 23 models. This Polymer 80 frame parts kit comprises the body or frame of the pistol and the rail parts.

The Polymer 80 Glock 19 frame kit is a much better option and replacement for the OEM Glock frame, providing an aggressive grip texture, excellent build quality, and an improved ergonomic design.

The frame kit for the compact model consists of these parts:

  • The blank frame
  • The Rear Rail Module
  • Two 3mm pins
  • A Locking Block Rail System

Both the RRM and the LBRS are made from high-quality stainless steel. The two pins of the kit are hardened, providing increased durability and resistance to wear and tear.

The PF940C also has a Picatinny accessory rail design, on which you can attach a lamp or laser accessory if needed.

The frame comes in several colors, like black, gray, or gold.

Full-size frame and rail kit – PF940v2

PF940v2 is a new and improved redesign of the v1, providing a much sturdier frame for your Glock 17 or 22 models.

The kit comes with the frame and the rails as standard. Here is a list of the complete parts:

  • The blank frame
  • A Rear Rail Module and a Locking Block Rail System
  • Two 3mm steel pins

The frame is made from high tensile strength polymer, which provides a reinforced construction and much better recoil handling. The handle is ergonomic and grippy with a next-generation improved design, ensuring the gun won’t slip when firing.

The RRM and the LBRS are reinforced stainless steel, making them corrosion-resistant and durable. The pins are also made from hardened steel to prevent bending.

The full-size frame and rail kit can also be part of the Polymer 80 ghost gun kit. You can even purchase a Polymer 80 ghost gun kit for sale online.

Polymer 80 lower parts kit

The lower parts kit is an essential part of the entire Polymer 80 build kit and mainly comprises components related to the gun’s trigger.

The Polymer 80 lower parts kit is often compatible with the PF940v2, PF940C, and PF940SC frames and rail components.

It is a Polymer 80 complete kit, consisting of all the trigger parts like:

  • Two trigger shoes, both curved and flat
  • Sub-compact, compact, and full-size Slide Lock Springs
  • Slide Catch Lever
  • Trigger Safety
  • Trigger Bar and Housing
  • A Connector
  • 9mm Ejector
  • Magazine Release with Spring
  • Trigger Pin
  • Locking Block Pin

All parts are made from high-quality materials, especially the springs, as they must perform well and be durable.

You can also purchase a Polymer 80 lower parts kit without the triggers. They are also compatible with all the PF940 series frames and come at more affordable prices.

Polymer 80 slide parts kit

There are multiple options to consider as far as slide kits are concerned. Complete slide kits are available as standard, but you can also go with different slide part kits.

P80 slide part kits are manufactured for compact and full-size Glock handguns. They can also come in a regular and an enhanced size.

Both regular and enhanced-size slide kits are heat treated during manufacturing and coated with black nitride to increase their durability and resistance to wear. With proper lubrication, they are incredibly long-lasting.

The difference between the regular and the enhanced slide kits is that the latter is improved in size, giving them more aggressive front and rear serrations for a better grip when loading the pistol.

They also have an external barrel part, which allows you to attach a suppressor if needed.

Regular and enhanced slide kits come assembled and ready to be used as part of a Polymer 80 Glock 22 complete kit or with a Polymer 80 Glock 19 full kit.

Polymer 80 308 (RL556v3) lower receiver kit

The Polymer 80 308 kit is a lower receiver piece used in rifles. It is the part of the rifle where the grip attaches, the trigger is placed, and the mag is inserted.

Many variations of this kit exist, one of them being the so-called WarrHogg. All of them are based on the LR-308 pattern and made from reinforced polymer, making them lightweight and durable.

The grip is attached to the lower receiver with a screw, and a grip nut and screw also come in the kit package. The lower has an integrated trigger guard and comes in several colors, like black, green, gold, or gray.

As far as magazine release is concerned, this lower receiver quickly drops empty mags. Even better, if the mag feels snug or tight, the inside of the lower can be sanded gently with sandpaper to make it slide easier.

Polymer 80 AFT Kit

The Polymer 80 AFT (Assemble For Thyself) kit is meant primarily for home DIY enthusiasts. It is a Polymer 80 full kit meant to allow a user to build their complete P80 handgun.

AFT gun kits are great for beginners and hobbyists who want to learn how to correctly and quickly assemble or disassemble a firearm correctly and quickly. It comes disassembled in the box, requiring the user to follow the manual and make the parts.

There are many Polymer 80 AFT kits available, but we will mention two of them, the PFC9 compact and the PFC9 full-size kits.

Both of these kits come with complete handgun parts that include:

  • A PF-series polymer frame
  • A stainless steel slide with black nitride coating
  • A barrel made from stainless steel
  • Polymer 80 slide parts kit
  • LBRS and RRM parts
  • Standard sights
  • Polymer 80 lower parts kit
  • Magazine with 15 to 17 rounds
  • Instructions and a carrying case

We again note that this is a complete kit, which, appropriately assembled, can be considered a Polymer 80 G17 build kit or even a Polymer 80 Glock 19 kit, depending on the size of the chosen package.

Is a Polymer 80 worth it?

No matter the use, the P80 frame kit will provide the same, if not better, functionality than the original Glock, with the added benefit of being a cheaper option.

The main benefit you will probably experience from using a Polymer 80 frame is the improved grip because it is similar to 1911, making it a very comfortable pistol to hold in hand. If you want to read more on the subject, you can do it by visiting this link.

What comes in a Polymer 80 kit?

Depending on the type of kit, a Polymer 80 kit can consist of separate handgun parts or a piece of complete equipment.

As we’ve already covered, a Polymer 80 kit can consist of the following:

  • The frame and rail parts
  • The lower parts, such as the trigger, springs, and pins
  • The slide, together with all the parts
  • Complete the details to assemble a Polymer 80

As a plus, many Polymer 80 kits come with dedicated jigs and drills, which you can use to drill the holes in the frame more easily. Even though we’ve failed to mention them above, they come as standard equipment with any Polymer 80 kit.

Is it hard to build a Polymer 80 Glock?

Not at all. Building a Polymer 80 Glock kit for many people is more accessible than assembling an OEM Glock handgun.

One of the things that you might find tricky is the use and proper drilling with the dedicated drill. It’s not difficult at all, but it may be confusing for many people, which is why there are tutorials online on how to do it.

So if you’re having doubts about drilling the pin holes, look for instructions. You can watch the video shared on this website to see the assembly process of a Polymer 80 subcompact handgun.
